About Bridge of Life

Bridge of Life (BOL) is a 501(c)(3) public charity founded by DaVita, Inc. BOL improves access to primary care and dialysis treatment in underserved communities around the world while also focusing on prevention of kidney disease through early-detection testing and education.

For every $25 you donate, Bridge of Life will provide one lifesaving chronic kidney disease (CKD) screening, dialysis treatment or primary care service.

Bridge of Life’s Programs

  • The Kidney Care program provides lifesaving treatment to people in developing countries with CKD who have few, if any, options available to them.
  • The Primary Care program places physician and clinical volunteers in hospitals and clinics around the globe. Each medical mission is designed to respond to the specific health needs of the community including women's health, pediatrics, vaccinations and general health.
  • The Education & Prevention program addresses the compelling and urgent need to raise awareness about preventable diseases, including BOL’s focus on CKD, and provides additional resources about health education to people who need it most.
  • The Kids’ Camps program supports medical camps for kids with serious illnesses by providing camps with nurses, general practitioners and specialists across a broad range of services. We support camps that create opportunities for children with life-altering medical conditions and their families to reach beyond serious illness and discover joy and confidence while safely enjoying the activities of a traditional camp. These camps are free for children, as well as their family members.
