About The Tour

Welcome to Tour DaVita!

2017 Tour DaVita will take place October 7th – 11th in Washington State. Every year, approximately 500 DaVita teammates, physicians, patients, family members, and friends of DaVita pedal their way across ~250 miles in a different part of the country during a three-day cycling adventure. It’s our way of helping bring quality health care to those in need while promoting a healthy lifestyle and having fun!

The 11th annual Tour DaVita will benefit Bridge of Life, a nonprofit organization that improves access to primary care and dialysis treatment in underserved communities around the world while also focusing on prevention of kidney disease through early-detection testing and education.

Shipping your bike

To clarify: this means you are NOT bringing your bike with you on a plane or in a car, but shipping it to and from the Tour.

If you'll be riding your own bike on the Tour, a stress free option is to ship your bike in advance to our partner bike shop in Burlington, Washington. Skagit Cycle Center can receive and assemble your bike before the Tour ($50), and disassemble, box and ship it home at the end ($50 for disassembly and boxing).

Before shipping your bike, call the shop directly (360-757-7910, ask for Bernie) and let them know you're a Tour DaVita rider; their staff will arrange receipt of your shipment and ask you to pay for their services by credit card over the phone.

Note: You must provide a pre‐paid shipping label if you are having your bike shipped after the ride. You can obtain a pre-paid shipping label by going to your local UPS, or you can look into shipping it via BikeFlights ( The bike shop does not assume any liability for the shipment of bikes; it's recommended to review the damage liability policies of your chosen shipping provider.

IMPORTANT: Your bike must arrive at Skagit Cycle Center no later than Friday, September 29, so that it can be assembled and ready for Backroads to collect in time for the Tour. The earlier they receive it, the better! Please be sure to clearly mark the outside of the box with your name and "Tour DaVita." You are responsible for contacting Skagit Cycle Center to confirm that they have received your bike in the time frame described.

Bringing your own bike on the plane or by car

If you are bringing your bike in your CAR with you:

Please indicate this on your rider registration. Plan to park your car in one of the parking lots at the airport.

Take one of the Backroads shuttles from the airport to the first campground. Backroads will transport your bike from the airport to the campground. NOTE: Shuttles will run continuously all day. Please indicate your approximate arrival time on your rider registration so we reserve room on the shuttle for you and your bike!

If you are bringing your own bike on the PLANE with you:

Please let us know you’ve selected this option by updating your rider registration accordingly. Make sure you’re comfortable packing your bike into the bike box, then unpacking and assembling it on site. (A few bike mechanics will be on site to assist if you absolutely need it, but you’ll be expected to assemble your own bike by yourself.)
