My Fundraising Progress

$200 raised of $1000 goal

Courtney Culpepper

In a normal year, Tour DaVita is a grueling, three-day bike ride to raise money for Bridge of Life – an incredible nonprofit working to strengthen global health. This year, we’re battling a pandemic. So instead of riding together, Tour DaVita participants are tackling their own personal challenges in their own backyards.

Don’t let the virtual event fool you. Bridge of Life’s work has never been more important, and the need has never been greater. This organization helps vulnerable communities prevent, detect and treat chronic conditions. Many people in these areas haven’t had access to health care in years, or even in their lifetime. Because Bridge of Life treats people with complex medical issues, their patients are also most at risk in the pandemic. So, the nonprofit is now helping to prevent the spread of COVID in countries like Haiti, Nigeria and Guatamela.

And now for the challenge – I will climb the Manitou Incline every day of Tour Davita’s three-day virtual event. For my Texas friends, this notorious climb starts at 6,500 feet in elevation. No, there’s no air there. In a single mile, you gain another 2,000 feet of elevation. This hike is equivalent to climbing the Empire State Building and has its own dedicated team of paramedics.

Believe me when I say that I’ve never seen a group as passionate as Bridge of Life and I’ve never pledged to so much as walk a mile before.

My fundraising goal is $1,000 and I need your help to reach it. This will help Bridge of Life pay for 60 handwashing stations, which are so critical – especially in this pandemic – for areas with no running water or soap.

Every dollar gets me a little bit closer to my goal, and this pledge gets Tour DaVita a little bit closer to its goal of raising $1million for Bridge of Life. Appreciate any support you can give!

As a bonus – If I pass my $1,000 goal, I’ll record my epic three-day struggle and share it exclusively with donors (and probably my mom).

About Virtual Tour DaVita

Everyone is welcome to join the virtual Tour DaVita 2020. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will look much different than those in the past. Individuals will pick an outdoor activity and create their own Moving Village with family, friends or their social distancing community.

About Bridge Of Life

BOL is working to ensure it is supporting its partners at this crucial point in the fight against COVID-19.

BOL is a 501(c)(3) public charity (Federal EIN is 46-2960097). The full amount of your contribution is tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.
